I’ve often wondered how some people appear to stroll through life, seemingly, without a care in the world, whilst many of us struggle to ever get off the rollercoaster …
Life is one wild ride, that’s for sure … Those hairpin bends may bring a squeal of delight, yet the sudden loops, where you’re hanging upside down, wondering if you’ll ever find your feet, bring nothing but anxiety, worry, stress and that feeling of, “I think I’m going to be sick” …
And then I discovered the power of Meditation …

I’m not going to say Meditation is for everyone, but it can be an amazing experience if you’re willing to try something new!
Having originated in India thousands of years ago, meditation has become part of mainstream society with many people, now more than ever, focused on improving their overall health and wellbeing.
Our busy day to day lives often mean that we have thousands of thoughts running through our head, at least three or four separate “to do” lists, colored post-it notes stuck to every available surface and a sense of being overwhelmed, exhausted and drained.
But what if I told you that spending 10 to 20 minutes each morning could not only promote relaxation and a sense of calm before your “busy” day, but could also increase your productivity, improve your mental focus and creativity, promote better learning and memory, reduce your stress levels, assist with healing, and improve your sleep when it’s eventually time to rest.
Meditation comes in many forms and can be anything you need it to be, to allow yourself to let go of the thoughts and emotions weighing you down, give yourself time and space to reconnect with your inner self and focus on your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
To begin a meditation, all you need is to find a quiet spot in your home or outside in your garden and get into a comfortable position. You will find many people sit cross-legged during meditation but as long as you're comfortable, it really doesn’t matter whether you’re standing, sitting in a chair or laying on the grass.
When you're ready, start by closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths to ground yourself in the “here and now”, allowing the world to fall away around you …. This is your time … Be aware of any thoughts that appear and watch as they peacefully float away, while you bring your attention back to your breathing and to your heart … Now, you are ready for your very own meditation experience …
Here a few of my favorite short meditations, that you may like to try;
Energy release meditation ~ this meditation is all about balancing your chakras (the energy centres within your body), to release any negative energy you may be holding onto and then filling your body with positive energy as you re-connect with the universe

Future-self meditation ~ this is my personal favourite and involves calling on your future self for guidance ~ this meditation can be highly emotional but can also bring so much happiness and clarity
